Sedation dentistry/Sleep dentistry
For more than 25 years, Dr Justin Tan has helped the most phobic of dental patients to get the dental treatment they need in a safe and comfortable environment. Many of these patients had been suffering from dental neglect, embarrassment and pain for many years or decades. Sedation dentistry is the perfect solution to address all their fears surrounding dentistry. It gives us great satisfaction to see a complete transformation of a patient from fearful to cheerful. Very often, these phobic patients overcome their fear to the extent that sedation is no longer needed for future appointments.
Dental Implants
Dental implants can be a great way to replace missing teeth. Dr Tan has been placing dental implant for over 20 years and is highly experienced with all aspects of dental implants including bone grafting and sinus grafting. Whether it be the replacement of a single tooth or all your teeth, Dr Tan has the solution for you. Combined with sedation, the process of having dental implants placed can be very comfortable and relaxed.
Invisalign/Orthodontics
Invisalign has revolutionised the process of straightening teeth. Through a series of clear plastic aligners which are custom fitted to your teeth and removable, they are a great alternative to traditional braces. They are the treatment of choice for most adult patients who either missed out on braces when they were kids or who have had orthodontic treatment in the past but the teeth are now crooked. For some of our patients, traditional braces is still the better solution. In other patients a combination of traditional braces and Invisalign leads to better outcomes. Dr Tan has been an active user of the ZEISS dental microscope for almost 20 years. It is an essential part of his daily practice. Unlike most dentists who rely on the naked eye or at best, dental loupes, Dr Tan uses the microscope for most almost all procedures including: Routine dental examination and cleaning of teeth, Periodontal examination, Extractions, Root canal therapy, Dental implant placement, Periodontal therapy, Detection of cracks and decay, Detection of soft tissue pathology, Crown and veneer preparation and cementation.

Dr Justin Tan
“Finding a Way to Help Others”
Wanting to make a difference in people’s lives, Dr Tan chose to enter the dental field and was awarded a scholarship to study dentistry at the University of Sydney, graduating with a Bachelor of Dental Surgery (Honours) in 1994. Since then, he has completed two postgraduate degrees, one in Dental Implantology from Charles Sturt University and another in Conscious Sedation and Pain Control from the University of Sydney.

“Senior Dental Nurse and Reception Whiz”
Monica has been working at Village Dental Care since 2019. She is an enthusiastic, helpful and a very friendly person. She graduated from Wollongong University with a Bachelor of Nursing Degree in 2010. Monica has also completed a Master of Gerontology Degree in 2013 at Wollongong University. Monica has been a Registered Nurse since her graduation. She worked at various aged care in the Southern Highlands and Bupa Care Berry before she joined the team.
